Primetime Sports Nationals - Fort Worth, Texas
|
| |
Wow! What an amazing experience the St. David U14 boys had during this summer. They packed their passports, basketball shoes and spirit and headed south to Fort Worth, Texas, for another first time state visit. 'Primetime Sports' were the host of the National's and the competion was due to be fierce. Over eighty teams participated in the U14 division alone. After the pool play, everyone seemed to be interested in this team from Canada that came first in their pool. We continued to play hard getting through every game and closer to our goal. It was during the semi - finals that we had to give way to the team that went onto win the gold medal, Arkansas Heat. St. David U14's showed our American friends, of which we made many, that achieving the goal of 'Final Four', just goes to prove again that Canadians, can play ball

King of the Court - Richmond Hill, Ontario
|
| |
In June, 2006 & 2007 St. David's hosted an international tournament near the Toronto area. After traveling to many tournaments in the United States, pressure was applied by their American friends, to not only provide the option to attend a St. David's tournament, but to also play at a high level of basketball and at the same time to visit Canada. St. David's goal was to provide a international tournament which was local to the GTA, family orientated and affordable to everyone. Through extensive fundraising St. David's is able to travel throughout the United to States to help expose Canadian Youth Basketball. St. David's is only too proud when the teams are able to generate enough excitement in American competition to encourage team to want to travel North. St David's coaches and parents are currently in the process of planning the 3rd 'King of the Court' Tournament, due to take place in June 2009.
